The dead stop design provides maximum concentrate recovery where samples can be withdrawn without the need for glass Pasteur pipettes. BJP 5 devices have been used extensively to concentrate urine and spinal fluid samples prior to gel and immunofixation electrophoresis for diagnosis of multiple myeloma, light chain amyloidosis and related disorders.
